Trail Description:
This is an epic ride, plan for a half day on the trail, pack snacks and fill your hydration pack to the top!

Long gradual climb from the Spruce Coulee Trailhead, off Highway 41, through open lodgepole pine forest.

Drop in to Spruce Coulee Lake and take a breather on the dock!

Take either trail on the Northside of the lake, this is open grassland that can get very hot on a sunny day.

Once you arrive at the Reesor Lake Viewpoint take in the awesome scenery to the North and the view of Reesor Lake below you to the East.

Continue on the Trans Canada Trail to the South and follow the open road to a fast descent through the bush to the East side of Reesor Lake.

After lunch at the lakeside begin the steep ascent and the return trip home!

How to get there:
Take the Trans Canada Highway East out of Medicine Hat then South on Highway 41 (follow the Cypress Hills Inter-provincial Park signs).

Once you reach Elkwater continue past the townsite turnoff and take your second left into the Archaeology Site and the Spruce Coulee Trailhead.

Additional Notes:
Good idea to take a buddy on this one and watch for cougars!
