The fee no longer applies, just drive up and park at the gate and go. It is a working ranch so there are some biological land mines to negotiate, good cardio ride.

Black Butte has eight miles of rolling single track. The terrain is appropriate for kids of any age. Most of the trail is smooth, nevertheless the fields are littered with glacial deposits that you must negotiate on the three mile loop. Although you will be hard pressed to find a tree, the trail has an abundance of wild flowers to stimulate your senses. I am a little partial, since I helped in the building of this trail. Nevertheless, I am always amazed at the beauty and variety of this prairie trail.
