Trail Description:
This trail is off of the duck pond trails. It can be accessed through the glen rock duck pond trails and the ridgewood duck pond trails. It is basically a paved trail running by the river. People come out to walk and/or ride bikes, rollerblade, jog, and skateboard. Watch out for these people. This may be the trail that beginners are looking for, but the real trails are the ones that come off of the pavement. They were probably made by teenagers (in fact I actually started one), but are some of the best stuff you can find in northern bergen county. look for tiny dirt trails that come off the main trail. Coming from the ridgewood duck pond there are a lot of trails but once you get over the bridge by the waterfall go straight and there are trails back in there by a homemade paintball feild. They come back out and you cross another bridge and then turn immediately right or left on to a dirt trail. if you go left it goes on for a while but eventually dead ends. if you go right it is a shortcut to another point in the trail, then keep on going on the dirt to a trail entrance on the oherside of the feild. it goes way back in there and runs alongside of the river. It eventually comes back out on the trail, just as all of them do. Basically, just look for any dirt paths along the paved trail. They are endless. I rode these trails since i was 8. then i moved to texas. yee-haw!

to find these trails just take the path that comes off of the loop around the ponds. really fun and really exciting...

How to get there:
Drive to either the ridgewood duck pond or the glen rock duck pond. If you can't find these places just pull over and ask a local. They know, trust me. after you find the duck pond go to the path leading off of the circle around the pond. no this is not the trail. look for any dirt paths leading off of the side.

Additional Notes:
watch out for foot traffic on the paved parts.

Hi Erika. I like the picture with the fence as well, but Elizabeth looks as if stcruk by lightning. I prefer the last but one picture with the soft tonal colours blending in together. Also, she has a faint smile on her face and the same natural curiosity as the other picture. Great session!
