Lots of technical singletrack. best to ride Joe johnston as far north as possible. then head back south on little windmill to wildcat canyon. tons of big rock on mountain sides, not a lot of straight lines making it very difficult. recommend full suspension or higher end hardtail. no joke - your gonna get a workout!

The intersection referenced should be Bandera Road, not Culebra.

Recommend Carolines Loop Counter Clocwise. Recommend Sendero Balcones be ridden southbound (little pedaling this way.) If you have a downhill bike, you could ride N. on JoeJohnston, take the Wildcat up to the top (might have to walk it 30 yards at one point), then turn right (south) on Sendero Balcones after passing windmill and you could blaze it down with crash gear on. I have an all mountain bike and used all my travel at moderate speed. Like to see what a pro could do here. Perfect test bed for full suspension bikes that claim to climb.

This is a very technical trail, tons on rocks with sections of dirt single track. I'd say it's 98% single track. I'd say it's best to go counter clock wise starting with taking the recharge trail to far reaches, then los banderos (sp?) around, to carolines overlook or something like that, then to the main trail which takes you to the entry point by the bridge. This is one challenging trail system....tough climbs, awesome downhill sections. I've got an 2008 SX Trail II....would highly recommend a dual suspension bike. Enjoy!
