Trail Description:
This Trail is GREAT, one can go for a nice ride around the resevoir or you can hit insane singletrack. Then there is a trail dubbed the roadway to HEAVEN. It's a LONG devious climb that ends with an awesome view and a fast descent. Be sure to make the climb and witness the view, you won't be sorry. Don't listen to your legs and lungs, just enjoy the view.
How to get there:
Rte 287 to Ringwood SKYLINE DR. exit (north of morristown, south of paramus) once off highway make left at light, many places to park along left side of road up the hill.
Additional Notes:
Park normally, they DO ticket people who park like dorks.

I have been riding these trails since
1988 and aside from the fact the parks
department is constantly trying to make
the trail less technical it has and
always will be one of the best trails in
Jersey. Maynard is obviously confused,
probably a hiker. Go to the Ringwood
state forest website and there you will
see the trails are open to mountain
bikers.

Yea they closed it by the soccer field in Pompton. Drive up ringwood ave, into wanaque - turn right on the street before 7-11 go to end. make left - go to end. this park has an entrance to the trials too - on your right as you come to the parking lot. park is called back beach i believe.

This trail has been updated and re-done since last summer. Not as rocky, but still challenging. I was just there hiking and noticed a sign that said under construction: so i walked it and saw the new trail. THis is up on the top by at the beginning. It is just as amazing, if not better.

I suspect Maynard is a classic narcissist (self centered) who is either a biker who wants the trails all to himself, or a hiker who resents bikers. A real sc*mbag who doesnt care about anyone else having a good time. Probably acts similar in bed - I know I wouldnt sleep w/him! - A Female Mountain Biker

I moved from nj but I can still remember this awesome trail. There is an amazing number of complex and fun trails if you continue straight over the bridge past the dam. There are little dirt paths turning off of the main path. These take you to some of the best trails in nj. it is very hard to find the crossing over the highway but once you do it is amazing. go for a swimm after your ride, it is very refreshing.

Maynard, you're a jacka$$. Is going everywhere saying that these trails are hiking only the only thing you have to do with your life? NO they're not. It's packed with moutain bikers daily and is one of the best places to ride in the state. What's your problem loser?
