Trail Description:
Very rocky. Watch out for Coyotes and possibly some serious snowmelt. This is a very challenging trail with some steep technical sections. Tough uphill, a blast coming back down.
How to get there:
From Salt Lake Itnl Airport: Head south on Rt 15 until you see the ski area exits. Get off Rt. 15 and get on Little Cottonwood Drive. Stop at the bottom to get on the trail.

I am 14 years old, and a beginer mountain biker. This trail was way fun and was way worth the ride down! It gets really rocky towards the top of the canyon. I would recomend this to anyone and everyone wants to go mountain biking. It has lots of great views also. Go! And have a good time!

Though close to the highway, you rarely see the road. The scenery is beautiful, and this year the river is extremely high and fast. Most of the trail is a high-intermediate, but parts become advanced with rocky slopes and boulders. Overall an excellent ride!

I wouldn't give this ride an advanced rating by any stretch of the imagination! More of low end intermediate trail!! Yes, it's fun. Yes, it's rocky, Yes it's one of my favorite "quick, after work rides".

The geographically confused one strikes again. This is the Quarry Trail which starts at the mouth of LCC parking area, bathrooms, paved nature trail, etc. Mostly moderate (old railroad grade) with some technical sections (eroded, loose rocks) You are never more than .5 miles from the highway. At the end there is a ruin of an old mill or power station. The trail follows LCC for about 4 miles with good views of massive granite walls (look for climbers) a waterfall or two and some relics of the past. The granite for the SLC morman temple was quarried in this area.

There is a side trail section which I cannot remember the name. But, close to the entrance of lcwc canyon you are able to park in a small parking lot with a five mile hike up. Large rocks and so forth with a snowmelt water fall on the side of majority of the trail. Coming down is a blast and with the large rocks do not wreck and please wear a helmet. Very good ride and a good rush. If you have somebody who can bring you up to the 3.5 mile point then you could repeat it several times faster.

This must just describe the road up Little Cottonwood Canyon. The description doesn't make that clear. If so, it's a great, beautiful and tough ride, but do it on a road bike.
