What time of the year are these trails open? We would like to go ride these next weak but we're not sure if it is open. Thanks!

hey comatose721 don't ride here or anywhere else " after a good rain". unless you plan on putting in some serious time repairing the trail say home! not to be so blunt but your precious few hours of enjoyment will ruin the trails for weeks to come. one love.

Can anyone give a little more detail on finding the entrance of the trail and if there is parking near by?

You have to take route 36, not 35. 35 splits into 35 and 36 about 10-14 miles before the park.

Must def take route 36 not 25 and follow the directions next to the picture above.

Hello, just wanted to correct the directions; it is not Rt.35, its Rt.36 & you would make a right on Grand ave. which would bring you to the Red Store. Also Tom indicated that this is a small area! its really not small at all check out a map. This whole area is very pleasing to eye from all angles, at times it is hard to believe you are only 50 miles from nyc. I moved to this area 15 years ago, still love coming home from work everyday. Stop in at that Red Store & visit Pat, get yourself a drink & snack for your trip in the woods.

The trails in Hartshorne Woods are awesome! There's something for everyone (even my 7-yr- old). After, continue on to Sandy Hook for lunch and ocean mileage runs. Most bike friendly place I've been to on the east coast.

I've been riding here since the early 90's. It is incredible the amount of excellent riding available in such a small area. This place rocks. The fact that I live 8 miles from here and I also love to surf just makes it perfect.
