This is the hands down premiere trail in NJ. its huge and has lots of great trails for the pro to beginner. and its not too packed
How to get there:
take rt 35 towards sandy hook. get off at navesink ave. take a left at the red deli and go 2 miles to trailhead (its just around a bend on your right)
Additional Notes:
Enjoy and try to fix the trails a little

Hello, just wanted to correct the directions; it is not Rt.35, its Rt.36 & you would make a right on Grand ave. which would bring you to the Red Store. Also Tom indicated that this is a small area! its really not small at all check out a map. This whole area is very pleasing to eye from all angles, at times it is hard to believe you are only 50 miles from nyc. I moved to this area 15 years ago, still love coming home from work everyday. Stop in at that Red Store & visit Pat, get yourself a drink & snack for your trip in the woods.

The trails in Hartshorne Woods are awesome!
There's something for everyone (even my 7-yr-
old). After, continue on to Sandy Hook for lunch
and ocean mileage runs. Most bike friendly place
I've been to on the east coast.

I've been riding here since the early 90's. It is incredible the amount of excellent riding available in such a small area. This place rocks. The fact that I live 8 miles from here and I also love to surf just makes it perfect.

Cowboy - take garden state pkwy to exit 117 (rt 35 & 36). take 36 towards sandy hook. about 12 miles down, looks for NAVESINK AVE exit. it's up on right about 1.5 miles.
