Trail Description:
This is a highly arid region much like that of southern Arizona. Take alot of water and you can find some awesome desert singletrack and some radical rock playgrounds.

How to get there:
From San Diego: Take Rt 8 east until you reach Rt 67 north. Take Rt 67 until it turns into Rt 78. This should happen at the town of Ramona. Follow Rt 78 west until you get into the park.

The directions on how to get there can not be correct. If when you get to Ramona after taking 67 north and turn on the 78 and go west you will eventually get to the ocean not the desert. Borrego Desert State Park is ease of Ramona. I have not been to this place, but the only thing west of Ramona would be Escondido followed by San Marcos, Vista, Oceanside and finally the Pacific Ocean.

This is actually a jeep trail. most of it is very soft sand and flat. There are a couple sections of rocks that are fun to ride but there is only two and they are very short. Sand is deep. I ride 3.0" rubber and struggled to not sink. It is probably great after a rainstorm.

another small correction. technically, there is nothing worth riding there, even if it was all open. for freeriders, theres all the playground you could want toward salton sea in the badlands, and OUT of a 'state park',,,peace...

Small correction: Technically, there is no legal singletrack within Anza Borrego Desert State Park. Sound unfair? Contact www.sdmba.com to find out what you can do about it.
