Trail Description:
This is a nice trail just 5 miles out of Red Lodge up the West Fork (of Rock Creek) Road. The trailhead is well marked, just head for USFS Basin Campground. The further in you go the more difficult the riding. A few sections are at the weekend warrior level, but, these sections can easily be walked by the novice. Basically, this is a beginner trail that I take my 9 year old daughter on. It takes us 1-2 hours. If I hauled ass on the trail I'm sure I could do it in under an hour. There are four loop trails, that are sequentially tied together. Nearly half of the trail follows the creek, which is real nice. During the winter this is also a fun x-c ski.
How to get there:
Head towards the Cooke City, up the Beartooth Pass and then turn right towards the Red Lodge Ski Resort, one mile south of town, then turn left at the west fork road, heading towards Basin Campground. About one mile down the road turn left. It is well marked as the Silver Run Trailhead. Cross the creek; park and ride. Big USFS sign and privy at the trailhead. Can't miss it.

I must of messed up on the trail decription/type. This trail is almost exclusively single track with a short section of dual track.
