Viewpoints along the way and watch out for foot traffic.

How to get there:
From Enumbclaw head East on HWY 410 4.5 miles to Mud Mountain Dam Recreation Road. Turn right and follow the road for 2.5 miles to the recreation area entrance. Turn left into the parking lot. The trail starts at the Rim Trail sign.

Excellent trail with varied conditions, gravel, mud, and compressed dirt. Several descents with numerous, (marked) roots and rocks. Fairly technical in places. Pay attention to the "bridges" in the swamp, they are loosely arranged and can cause a nasty spill. Short enough to comfortably explore with limited Winter daylight.

This is my local trail, and there is much more to explore, if you turn left at the end, and cross the paved road you came in on...look for blue, orange, or white ribbon, as well as wooden trail signs, and find jewels like "nosedive" and "horseshoe" trails, as well as the old rock quarry pond, etc, etc. Also keep an eye out for elk, deer, and the occasional black bear.

The first trail I ever road and still one of my favorites...be careful not to go down the jeeps trail by mistake...very confusing and harder than hell to get back up!

Good trail for local folks not worth the drive from very far away. Be respectful of the walkers so we do not get thrown out.

Nice short ride in great forest. Good for strong beginners. Watch out for dog walkers! Got chased by Cujo last time I was there.
