Trail Description:
Onion Mnt fire lookout is a dual on gravel for 8 mi, then single hardpan for 2 up to the tower. Once up to 3,500 on the saddle there are multiple single track jump-offs for miles, great views for miles, big long sweeping back downhills, no tech/jumps, no ditch witches, no motorcycels or 20 jeeps to run you off. Great medium incline long run up & back.

How to get there:
From Interstate 5 fwy take Grants Pass west 8 miles to River banks road/applegate river bridge. Go right 6 miles to Onion Mountain/Shane Creek intersection. Note* theres a gas station/deli store 200 yards past the Onion/Shan turnoff.

Additional Notes:
You can rent the Onion Mnt fire lookout for a reasonable weekend fee.
