Lake Youngs Path

Trail Description:
Lake Youngs is a fairly wide gravel path circling around Lake Youngs resevoir in rural Renton. Though the trail goes around the lake, you will very rarely if ever catch a glimpse of the water. The path is mostly rolling hills with a few steep sections. This is a great ride for beginners who aren't quite ready for singletrack. Also a fun family ride.

How to get there:
From I-405 take Exit 4 in Renton to HWY 169 South. Turn right on 140th Way SE and head up the hill for 2 miles. Turn left onto Petrovitsky Road and follow it for 1.4 miles to Old Petrovitsky Road. Turn right and at about .4 miles park on the right in the large lot.

Just started riding two weeks ago mostly on on flat paved trails(Interurban, Soos Creek). Thought I would give Lake Youngs Trail a try, and it kicked my butt with all the up & down. I did learn one thing for sure....Its much harder to go uphill in gravel then on paved surface. I will try it again in a couple of weeks.
