Trail Description:
Old railroad tracks converted to a walking / biking trail. Very nice and enjoyable family ride. Great to take the kids along, even the toddlers in a buggy!
The trail runs between St. Charles, MO to Sedalia, MO. It goes through Columbia and the State capitol, Jefferson City.
How to get there:
In Columbia take exit 125 off I-70 and go South on Stadium Blvd. Go approx. 2 miles to bottom of hill. Should see sign on right (south). Also several access points in Columbia and other towns along the way.

This one's good if you like it flat. Check pebblepublishing.com for a complete guide to the Katy Trail and other mountain bike trails in Missouri. Show-Me Mountain Biking is a good one for tougher trails.

Not really a MTB trail at all, but it is very good for what it is. I wish there were more states that did this much with rails-to-trails. My favorite section is the Agusta area near St. Charles. The trail runs along the Missouri River below bluffs populated by wineries. I love hopping on the cyclocross bike and doing a winery tour. There are bed & breakfasts that you can pedal to if you want to make it a date.

I ride sections of this trail 1-5 times a week. Obviously it's not technical in the slightest sense, but it'll provide hours of the smoothest trail riding you're bound to find. It's very scenic as well as safe.
