Trail Description:
This is a pretty long trail with a very long climb. The climb will take a lot out of you, especially if it's hot out. Just bring alot of water and the ride is great. Remember what goes up must come down.

How to get there:
From Tuscon: Head south on Rt 19 for 25 miles to the Continental exit. From there go down Madera Canyon Rd for 11 miles. The parking lot is right before Proctor Ranch Rd.

More singletrack than listed here more like 65% singletrack. Ride as about 14 miles long. Mostly climbing on the way in.

Most do this as an out and back from the east end of the trail. Starts as a dirt road for almost 3 miles of gradual climbing till you hit the singletrack, then 4 more miles of climbing to the top. The other end of the singletrack is close to the highest point turn around which is after a gate at 7 miles. Expect baby heads, sand and several technical climbs. This trail is a workout, full suspension reccommended.

not the best trail as far as the riding goes, and i suggest you only go if there's been some rain in the last few weeks, otherwise, lots of sand quite a challenge, and the downhill is endless (almost as much as the uphill) trail takes you everywhere and gives amazing views of elephant head (almost from every angle) overall, a good epic ride for someone in very good shape who wants a challenge

Good ride, bring plenty of water, I ran out when I got back to the single track and bonked. The climb is tough but well worth it. When ya come back down just hold on tight and love every minute of it. It's awesome.

If you want rocks and ruts, sand and dabbing, this is Utopia. I should be fair, after several years maybe it's different, but my guess is it's just rutted out even worse. The jeep road up from the far end of the trail can be fun....Keep riding and riding, I don't care who you are, there's enough country out south to wear down the burliest glutes...Tired yet? Now ride back to the car...
