Trail Description:
At the start of the trailhead it's a gradual climb to some more technical, rocky climbs. At the top is a fasttrack loop about 1/2mi long. After the loop, the decent back down is sweet. There's another trail that breaks off from the start of the loop, also. Try this for a pretty good single track.

How to get there:
From Huntsville take 231/431 north for about 3mi. Take a left on Hollow Rd. Go about 3/4mi and turn right on Fagan's Hollow Rd. Follow the gravel road about 1 1/2mi to the parking lot on the right. Trailhead starts there.

First - the directions are wrong. There is no Fagan's Hollow. It's Spragin's Hollow. The trails are on something called Wade Nature Preserve. There are a couple of small signs that tell you that, but it is otherwise small and hidden. The trails, however, are pretty nice. They range from smooth and easy to fairly technical. I haven't been riding long, so they were challenging to me. Probably not so much for a more experienced rider. There appear to be multiple trails that could keep you busy most of the day. I went close to sunset and only went a couple of miles before returning the way I came. Had a great time and built up a fine sweat. I'll definitely be back.

The best path depends on what you want to do. After the climb to the T, go left if you want to fly. When you get to a fire road, go right/left (20 yards)to continue. When it takes a hard right (steep/muddy/rocky), turn around and come back the way you came. If you want rocky climbs and descents, from the T go right then bear left and up. This will eventually meet the first trail (go left to get back to the T and right to return to the trailhead). The racetrack (go right from the T) is just that. 0.5 miles, flat, very fast. Lower trail is shared with horses and hikers.

This trail is a waste of time the "fasttrack" at the top is maybe .5 miles and isn't even really any fun. don't waste your time in riding this trail. also the one time i rode this trail there were some volunteers pputting a layer of mulch on the trail. why?

Lots of connecting trails, I spent 3 hours on Wade Mountian, wrecked twice, and loved every minute. My ribs are still sore but I can't wait to go back.
