The trail is nice. seems to be maintained well.
advanced riders will probably find it boring unless
they are riding it fast. not very technical. also, not
alot of traffic...walking or biking. trail is mostly
shaded which makes it nice in the summer.

Good trail for this area. Trail was in good shape today. Lots of exposed roots for the first couple of miles makes the ride a little jaring but it smoothes out and picks up speed after that. The trail is fun but not very challenging. I would say it is a great trail for us beginers but more advanced riders may find it a tad boring.

Good trail, but kinda weak on the maintenance. I used to ride this trail a lot, but a big storm has left at least 3 big oaks on the trail. Make sure you let the trail dry out a little, or be prepared for a wet, nasty ride.

The big wind storm has left this trail in poor shape. Many large trees now lie across the trail. The second half, from the road back to the lake check-in station hardly even exists any more. Some great people have started clearing out the damage on the first half, but there are still about 5 places you must dismount to get back on the trail. It will be ok again some day, but I don't know when that will be.

Not worth the trip from Memphis. The trail is more flat than the TDW. The technical parts were roots(easy),gullies(easy),logs & a bridge(intermediate). The logs looked as if they were added to make an easy trail more difficult, they added a unnatural feel to the trail. The poison oak is not worth a trip from anywhere. Do Stanky Creek or the best trail in the area, Lake land trail(worth the drive) just skip HPL.

It was a grwat course. I highly recommend it. There is alot of Poison Ivy so where high socks or something. Be careful with the sharp turns I smacked a tree on one goin to fast.

This is a fun and technical "trail". It is not a paved road. Except for a short portion of asphalt to rejoin the trail, this run is mostly dirt.
