Ride Summary:
Technically challenging ride in Austin
Trail Description:
This trail is a definite favorite for those who enjoy an extremely technically challenging ride. Only 400 feet of climbing, but you will still get an extreme workout at Forest Ridge. The trail climbs up to the waterpower with plenty exposed dangerous drop-offs to keep you on your toes. This area is protected wilderness for the Golden Cheek Warbler so stay on the trails and keep an eye out for hikers and bird watchers. Tremendous scenery and views throughout and maybe you'll even see a Warbler or two.
How to get there:
In Austin, from the Arboretum area on Hwy 183, go South for two plus miles on 360 then look for the Forest Ridge Preserve and parking on the right.

This was a great trail. It was a great park, but the best parts are closed to people in favor of the warbler. I've been to pedernales falls and seen the warbler and people in the same place. Very sad.

A great trail bites the dust. Now closed except for the cop cruising around on the ATV to keep the bikers out.
