Ride Summary:
Not a lot of climbing, but good technical challenges

Trail Description:
700 acres offers some great technically challenging singletrack. Roots, baby-head rocks, hills and jumps await the skilled rider. The North end, though often ridden is posted with "No Trespassing" signs. The South end (lower section) offers more trails and better riding anyway so be a good little IMBA rider and stay on the open trails. In addition to the on-trail obstacles, low hanging branches and exposed cliffs also force you to keep alert

How to get there:
In San Antonio, take I-410 South to Exit #39. Turn right onto WW White and then left at the stop sign onto Military Drive. Follow Military Drive West for 2 miles and then turn right onto Alsbrook Drive. There is parking along the side of the road. Hop on your bike and ride further down Military Drive a couple hundred yards and under the bridge to the trail.

Additional Notes:
Austin

Went there this weekend, well, whats left of it. I grew up in those trails in the late 80's early 90's. What a DAMNED shame most of it is gone. Watch out for Paintballers, and homelss folks. I'd say dont go alone. Oh yeah, BE IN SHAPE. I smoked myself.

I agree with most of the more-recent posters. There's not much left because of so much development/construction. I just recently started riding what's left of a trail that runs along Salado Creek. i go there regularly but have never seen any other riders out there. what exactly is the 'big bowl'?

due to natural erosion, swamp pockets only add beauty to the construction slowly riding this land of all potental.no more entry from alsbrook, fyi

the trail is great, but it's always been private property. The owner hung new signs a few months back and is trying hard to sell. More of the north end is under dfevelopment, but there is still a lot to enjoy. The big bowl south of the bridge is still there...I never see anyone out there anymore, though. Nature has reclaimed this trail. What a loss for us...and the developers continue to build. We need more sites like this...suggestions? Anyone?

I have biked this area before but a few years back. From what I understand is that it is not there anymore. It has been developed. All new houses now. If this is not true please let me know. I would love to go back for a ride.

Hard to find this place, went out twice to locate. On second trip, found trails starting from the Salado Creek bridge going both ways. Looks like mostly motocycles are using trails, did not see any on my ride though. Feels very remote, I suggest taking a buddy.

One of the best trails in the area. You can get lost for hours. Would recomend it to beginers and experts alike. Scenery isn't too bad either..

I've been riding here since I was about 9. I'm glad to see others riding here. A lot of challenges and technical stuff, something for everyone.

Excellent choice of trail here. There are several long single track loops on one end, and great technical climbing on the other. Even though a developer bought 98 acres, old and new trails are being opened and worked all the time. Contact the local club www.storm-web.org for an online map and a tour.

Fantastic rolling runs of singletrack...Especially along the creek. A truly enjoyable ride.
