Trail Description:
Quiet Waters Park is a nice and easy trail in the middle of town. It is fun and easy to get to. If you're looking for a technical challenge, this definitely isn't it.
How to get there:
Located in the heart of Deerfield Beech on the corner of Powerline and SW 10th St. (Sawgrass Expressway)

as Scott said, this trail has been
completely redeveloped since hurricane
wilma in 2005. the hurricane demolished
the old trail that was located at the
other side of the park.. now it's pretty
new still being developed each day by
volunteers and bike patrol. it has some
pretty decent climbs, really rocky and
sandy, in the intermediate areas there
are technical elements added like
bridges and teeter totters. 5-10ft
drops.. i haven't been in the black
diamond areas b/c i'm still pretty new
and stick to intermediate, but i've
heard there are some pretty fun things
to do in there. at the very start is a
novice trail that leads to a skills
course and beyond the skills course is
the rest.
beware - there is NO shade. it is still
being developed and trees are growing,
but for now it's like being in the
desert and in this extreme heat (in the
dead of august) it's almost too hot to
ride there during the day in my opinion.

The trail has been greatly improved with new black diamond runs, hills and technical riding area. Some of it is advanced and challeging. Most of the new areas have been added in the last two months. Beware that they are closed on Mondays and Tuesdays.
Rate this different than beginner, although Oleta is much more challenging, as is Markham.

Ok, first off i know most will tell you it is an easy trail for stating trail riders. Although, i think there is some that is not meant for someone who just got in to the sport. Like the new black diamond part called "the bike wash". My first time on this part i fell 5-6 feet down a part of the trail do to a loose rock in the hill. Also, there is a 7-10 foot down hill with a 2-4 foot drop off at the end and, someone just starting in my opinion wont know how to take it on. So i think this trail is meant for riders who have had some time to practice at lesser trails. Such as "pinehurst" and "dyer". and pinehurst is a newer trail which you would go i-95 to forest hill blvd then head west on forest hill blvd for about 5-6 miles, then make a left on pinehurst dr. for about .5 mile till you get to freedom park then get your gear and ride to the trail entrance which is off pinehurst about .2 mile south. there is NO!!!!!!!!!!!! parking by the trail you must park in freedom park or okeeheelee p

You can take the park at your own speed. The faster you go through smooth trails the more challenging. The paths are well kept and clean packed dirt for most of it. There are far and few jumps but fun. I didn't see any expert trails but over all a good beginner to intermediate trails. Mostly flats but fun. I rated it fair because of skill level. The park is smaller than others so 2 hours for a quick rider can get through the whole park. Take sunblock, it's hot out there. I found no problems zooming through on smooth groomed trails mostly free of loose rocks. I didn't feel any tree roots to make the path tricky so speed your way through and have a blast. It's not Markham but it's still a lot of fun. Great for people getting in to mountain biking to get comfortable as it will still test you some. It is growing, totally different from the old days there when you were bouncing off every tree root slipping everywhere. Just take this park as fast as you can and it will be

I left out there are a few more advanced part of the trails but they are a drop here and there. I guess the park is still growing. I give credit to the people building it, pretty good job. I would like to see more bigger dirt jumps to get good air.

Excellent trail and getting better. 2 of 3 phases now open with phase 3 opening soon. New additions to existing trails happening all the time by a core of volunteer trail builders working every 2nd and 4th Saturday of every month.

Check out www.clubmud.com for updates on Quiet Waters Park. A total rebuild is in progress, with help from IMBA and Broward County Parks. We expect about 7 miles of new trails by Spring of 2008.
