Trail Description:
Steep killer downhill at first but gets rockey at the bottom. After fighting with the big rocks you go on to a mild single track with beautifull scenery of Mt Etna. Now it gets challenging with medium to step uphills but it is worth the climb at the top of Motta hill when you can tour the Castle of Motta. It is a great ride, but is not for begginers. So far it is the only trail I know of in Sicily for MTB. But I WILL FIND THEM or invent them.

How to get there:
If you ever get to go to Sicily, it is a great place. The island has one of the most active volcanos in the world, Mt Etna. Motta S. A. (nicknamed "Little America") is the city just outside of the airport in Catania Fontannarosa.

We are wanting to do some MTB trails on Mt Etna in Mar - Apr 2008. Any body have any local contacts we can go riding with? Willing to pay for a good guide. Dave is a DH racer, so almost nothing is too gnarly for him if others can ride it. Email me at ctinav"at"hotmail.com Thanks

I enjoyed the motocross trail ride in the valley Next to Motta. there is also another trail on Mt Etnea. The trail circumnavigates the mountain, and is only for hikers, and cyclist. The active volcano has cut the trail in places. However there is lots of volcanic activity to see. Happy riding. There is lots of riding in this area. You just have to find it. Check out my website. www.wf.quik.com/hundtoft for some info on Italy
