Trail Description:
Long climb at the start witha rewarding downhill thru BB caynon, a local training ride.

How to get there:
Start with a climb up to the 3/4 mark of the chelan butte road, take the fish and wildlife gate (dont go to the top of the butte, but it is a great view if you do). Stay right and follow the dirtroad, eventually you will hit alt 520a and take a right to chelan. Parking is best at the eazy's drive in where the butte paved road will lead you to the dirt road. All else fails look for the highest point in chelan, its got some radio towers on it.

Additional Notes:
Mid summer is hot out there, rattlers and lack of water is always a threat. This is a spring and fall ride only.

Going all the way to the top up the "ridiculously steep" road is well worth the effort. Drop off the top at first to the north down an old fire line that follows the ridge and turns east. At a small saddle follow a trail across the face of the Butte and connect with jeep trails for a descent into south Chelan near the dam. Awesome.

You're asking for severe physical trauma if you do this trail in the direction it is described. The climb from the highway at EZ's drive-in up to the point where you take the right turn is rediculously steep. This circuit is great from the other direction, where the climbs are still plenty difficult, but they at least you can get traction. And you end up with a blazingly fast, steep ride down to lake chelan.
