Trail Description:
This is a trail that requires a lot of stamina. There are a lot of climbs and they are all very long. You are basically climbing a mountain side. You do get a break whenever you get to go downhill though. But be carefull because the downhill parts get you going fast and it is a bit rocky in parts. Although the trail is not very technical it is not an easy ride at all.
How to get there:
Take highway 270 west out of Hot Springs. When you get to Crystal Springs look for Crystal Springs road on your right (it is between a couple of hillbilly stores). Take a right and follow this road until you see a little outside church pavillion. The trail starts just to the right of the pavillion.
Additional Notes:
Bring your climbing shoes!

This is the same trail as the Charlton. Charlton Trail is a oneway trail that runs between Charlton Rec. Area and Crystal Springs Rec. Area

Have not ridden this one but there is a nice camping/swimming area on down Crystal Springs Road for when you are done with the ride. Thsi is Lake Ouchita, one of the cleanest lakes in the state. You are right about the stores except one of them is actually a little cafe where they fry up a mean mess o' catfish and hush-puppies.One last thing for those NOT from that area. It gets damned HOT in the summer, over 100 with humidity in the 90 percent range. Take LOTS of water. In the fall look out for Copper-Heads, a poisonous snake that blends very well in the leaves.
