Trail Description:
The trail starts by meandering along the north fork of the American river. You will start to climb on a dual track and after a mile or so you will come to the access rode to Lake Clementine, keep climbing. There is a turn-out about a mile or two further and you can either take the short cut straight ahead or go right to the top of the mountain. Once at the top it is all down hill. Mostly single track with lots of rocks in places and several fun jumps. The top part of the trail comes out on the road again at the entrance to Mammoth Bar Rec. area. Head on down and in about 500yds. there is a fire trail to the right. This will become single and double track and it is both fast and in places technical. If you have a fear of heights don't look to the left as it can be a beautiful but dizzying view down to the central fork of the American, and it would be a long climb back up.
How to get there:
80E until you are coming into Auburn. Exit Elm and make a left and a left again at the light. Take this street which becomes highway 49. You will head downhilluntil you find yourself at the bottom below the Foresthill bridge. The trail on the south side of the river is the Clementine loop.

This trail is excelent but its not as hard as everyone is making it seem. If you take it easy it will be a great place to build your skills.

This is my back yard, and there are numerous other trails in the area. The climbs are very forgiving, so no worries. When you park at the bottom, look at the map near the portable toilet, this will give you a great idea of the other trails, it would not be hard to ride thirty miles hear on different trails. If you want a great hill climb, start up Stagecoach and instead of turning the hard left, continue start towards the bridge. I think the grade is a good 20-30%, and when you near the top, on your left is a single track named Mossy Rock, this will hook you into some of the main trails. Bring water, there is no drinking water in this State Park.

This trail is not to hard ascending on the duouble track, the single track descent is a real hoot.Better hold on to your boys over the ruts and rocks.

This is a terrific trail and it only gets better at night (no hikers or equestrians to avoid) One word of warning though in the summer the temp often hovers around 105f during the day. Last but not least there are dozens of fire road and single track rides in the canyon ranging from beginner to "HOLY SH*T!!!". ride on
