Trail Description:
This is the trails of Hither Hills State park. It consists of some of the most beautiful trails on Long Island. I can not believe it has not been listed here to date. A must for everyone, but be sure you get a map before venturing out. You can stay out and ride all day long. WATCH OUT FOR THE CLIFFS :)

How to get there:
Take the Long Island Expressway east to exit 70 (Route 27 Sunrise Highway) From 27 you go east to Amagansett. Continue east and a few miles up youll see a lookout on your left. Pull into the parking area. There should be maps located in the Parks Post Board. ENJOY!!!!

Jimmy was asleep if all he could find was 10 miles. There are 3000 acres of land and 35 miles of trails is a light they are closer to 40 miles. Joe is a crybaby, I've ride these trails all the time and my bb is fine. The ticks are not a problem as long as you don't wade threw the tall grass and the ivy is only a problem if you crash. My suggestion Joe is to get lose the Huffy get a real bike ride it and don't crash in the poison ivy.

Hither Woods is some of the best riding on Long Island. The network of trails has roller coaster like ups and downs, singletrack that is bushwacking fun, slick rocks, and amazing views of the water. Bring some mosquito repellent and ride like a madman! Yeehaw!

dear jimmy, you don't know what the hell you are talking about.

Just to avoid confusion - there are not 35 miles of trails. It would be optimistic to say that they entire network measured 10 miles.

I think Hither Hills is great, my favorite parts are the singletrack tight with poison ivy, the endless lyme disease bearing ticks that we picked off after the ride and the new BB I had to install from all of the sand that got ground into it.

Great place to ride. Can do fast double track and not too technical single track. But then there are some gut wrnechers, too.
