Trail Description:
Vulture's Knob. Considered by most to be Ohio's premere Mountain Bike Race Course. There are many trails, the main loop takes about 45 min, but you can ride all day. I have never seen more variety in a race course before, Killer climbs, sweet, fast downhills, TONS of log bridges, slat bridges, etc (1 bridge in the Killbuck Run section is 86 feet long)
How to get there:
Vulture's Knob is located in Wooster. From Canton, head West on US 30. In Wooster get onto Route 302 and bear right onto Liberty St. Liberty St. will turn into Mechanicsberg Rd. Vulture's Knob will be on the right. (a total of about 2 miles from US 30).

It's my weekend fun! Well maintained, very technical. You can choose several XC or the advanced skills options, but the XC is already pretty physical. Still one of the best if not the best in Ohio.

This is one of the best trails around. It will kick your butt if you are not in shape. The downhill is crazy fast and technical. It is kinda hard to find, but well worth the search. Don't waste your time at other trails. This is the best in Ohio.

If you can find the place, Vultures Knob offers a varitey of terrain located on top of an old waste dump of the 1960s. At one point in time the trail goes trough a swamp on rickity wooden pathway. The course was on the NMBA race series, but due to its technical difficulty it had been removed. **Bring misquito spray and poison ivy block!!** Advanced to expert terrain with lots of difficult climbs and manovers.

This trail is awesome and living in wooster is even better a friend and i started goin out about every weekend and we absolutely love it. You cant beat the rickety old rope bridge that you hope holds you as you go over it or the ravine that is 5 feet wide and 10 feet high surrounded with rock. The guys who created this were crazy and took some serious time in doing so and i must thank them for it.

I could not believe this trail existed in Ohio. Once you find it you will see it was worth the trouble to do so. However, this page says it was 20 miles long. Maybe if you go around twice. I don't care how "Ohio" macho you think you are - I say full pads for the rocky descents. It was exquisitely tough, well maintained, and loaded with long climbs. I loved it

Coming from NW Ohio, I thought I had to go to Michigan to get any decent riding. The Knob kicks anything Southern Michigan offers. Not for the week of heart, or anyone that's not in great shape.

This place was SWEET!!! Big "D" and I went there over the weekend and had a blast! Be sure to take some mosquito repellant, they will eat you alive there if the Knob doesn't! There are some very steep hills to climb (your legs will feel like you just did 30 sets of squats with no rest!!) and some great road signs! "AKRON 30 Miles" "Bridge Weight Limit 12 tons" Some of the areas on the trail are great to stop and spend 20 min. just practicing technique. Or you can just hop on and get crazed and bomb it!!

I haven't been on many trails because im not old enough to go many places. But for Ohio this trail kicks ass. The Hardest I have riddin in Ohio. But over springbreak my dad took me to Moab, Vultures Knob is still pretty good for a trail in Ohio, cause Ohio mostly isn't that good.

The best place in Ohio! A private area that is well maintained by Dr. Knob. Many obstacles, rocks, logs, bridges, and jumps to get over. Very technical in places. The swamp area was probably the most technical because of the many bridges that had to be navigated without falling into the swamp. These aren't your normal, easy bridges - we are talking logs that gove you about 10 inches to ride on. A few switchbacks while goin up or down hill that really test your handling. Any one can ride here - if it seems to difficult you can always walk your bike past the obstacle. Pictures at www.dublintrails.homestead.com

Coming from Vermont, I didn't expect to find any good mountain biking in Ohio. The trail here proved me wrong. It is a fun, technical trail that will put a big smile on your face if you love single track and variety. There are a lot of bridges -- one is like a semi circle so you can't see what's beyond until you get to the top (and it is fairly high up over a ravine and has no sides). The two guys who developed this trail have a great sense of humor and fun. My husband and I had a little difficulty finding it, but once we did, were surprised that we had driven by it the first time. Coming from Wooster, the road to Vultures Knob is on the left. Look for a gravel road by a field and a big vulture sign.
