Trail Description:
First let me say that it is easy to get lost here so plan enough time to find your way back out. The trails consist of a lot of sand, loose dirt and shale. Motorcycles share these trails so keep an eye and ear out for them. The trails aren't overly technical but there are plenty climbs to give you a good challenge. The fire roads are fast and furious. Flats are common due to the omnipresent cactus, so come prepared.

How to get there:
From San Antonio, take I-35 North to the Pat Booker Road exit. Follow Pat Booker for about 2 miles to Coronado Road. Turn left onto Coronado and go North to the stop sign. The trail is right across the road from here.

Additional Notes:

Lots of fun trails.. but also lots of loose rock and washed out limestone in the creekbed. It's more fun closer to FM78. Also accessible from several other locations: FM 78, Schertz park, and IH35 (there's a park-and-ride under the freeway - park there and ride south in the creekbed.

you can still get to the creek bed if you go to red horse park in Universal City. Once you enter the park, go down the road until the park ends. there's a little access road that leads to the creek bed. There's a frisbee golf course set up near there with trails and stuff

I ride weekly off highway FM1518 near Schertz park on the west side of the creek. I ride all over, there are a lot of trails cut by ATV's and 4x4 vehicles. Most trails are tree covered, making it cooler to ride in the Texas heat. Some very technical parts. So many different trails I still get turn around. A lot of hills to climb, but some are very difficult. I've made it up a few. Most of the creek bed is loose rocks, or water - mostly impossible to ride. Just stay on the west side north of FM78 and west of FM1518 in Schertz. The trails are from beginner to advanced. Bring plenty of water and enjoy.
