This is an awsome trail. Very long and very hot, so pack lots of water and some food. If you are prepared this ride will not disapoint. Lot's of nice scenic payoffs for your hardwork.

Take everything you may need ( lot's of water and parts to fix anything) there is no walking out of this one! Locals ride alot of hardtails but the full suspension will allow you to walk the next day. Rain sheds fast so if it rains early in the week by the weekend it will be dry.

Just wanted to add, the 100ft elevation gain makes it sound like this trail is flat. IT IS NOT! If you ride the entire trail, you will have climbed around 6000ft!

I picked a bad couple of days to ride solo. It was cold and wet. Muddy in some places, otherwise the trail held up really well after a few inches of rain. Stayed at Hwy 27 Fishing Village. Ronnie offers a shuttle for a fee, but was off the property over my 2 day stay. Still it was worth the drive from HOUSTON,TX. Will be back next spring! vicb276@yahoo.com

It was extreme. Definate advanced skills needed. We climbed out of Fishing village and had a good ride up till a sharp shale rock slit my front tire open and dumped me on the rocks. A broken kneecap and fracture lower leg made it hard to get down off the 5 miles we went in! Be careful! But it is fun and scenic.
