Trail Description:
Tight, twisty singletrack with some steep climbs. Four different loops that begin off doubletrack that runs through the area. Sig's Trail and The Gauntlet are probably the most technical of the New Light Trails.
How to get there:
From Raleigh take NC 50 North to NC 98 East. Turn left on New Light Road and left again on Old Weaver Trail. Trailhead is 0.5 mile on the left.
Additional Notes:
SUNDAY RIDING ONLY DURING HUNTING SEASON.

i recomend burned out and the gauntlet. the first loop starts really close but its worth it to go straight to one of these unless you wanna get more miles in your run. there were alot of roots on the firstloop and i for one like the speed and the roots caused me to slide around and bounce off a few trees and off the track a bit. the other trails offer more skill requiredments. but i still love this place.

The information here is a little dated. there are now 20 + miles of trails there. Sigs, Route 66, Eastern Territory, Burned out, Gauntlet, First loop, Easy street, Way in Way out, plus a few interesting connector trails makes this one of the most extensive trail systems in Eastern NC. The only catch is, it is only open on Sundays from Sept through May due to hunting season. Please observe these access limitations.

Route 66 has one heck of a dip in it..it must be 20 feet across, 7-8 ft deep. Sigs trail rocks !

One of the best trails in the Raleigh area. Great variety of difficulty levels. The Gauntlett and First Loop are my favorits.

Sigs Trail and the Gauntlet are probably the best. But great ride!
