Trail Description:
This trail is within the Green Mountain Forest and can be combined with the Beaver Pond Trail to make a good loop ride. However the Beaver Pond Trail requires more technical skills. From the trailhead the climb to the high point is steady with some short steep sections but the Vista Point at the top is your reward with great views of the Olympic Range to the west and the Puget Sound and Seattle to your east. The descent is fantastic especially since about every corner on the trail down has berms. On your way down though be cautious of the many hikers and bikers on the trail especially on weekends.

How to get there:
From Seattle, drive south on I-5 to Tacoma. Take Hwy 16 north across the Narrows Bridge toward Bremerton. Just south of Bremerton bear right onto Hwy 3 (north) and take it past Bremerton to Chico Way exit. At the end of the ramp turn left onto Chico Way. Turn right onto Northlake Way, and then bear right onto Seabeck Hwy. Go 3.2 miles, then turn left onto Holly Road. Go 1.9 miles and find Green Mountain's Wildcat Trailhead on the left. ( If you ride the ferry from Seattle to Bremerton, take Hwy 304 west. Turn right on Hwy 3, and go north to the Chico exit.)

Wildcat trail will give you a challenging fun! You must take beaverpond trail it adds like another 3 mile. Only tip I can give you is to bring a can of bug spray it's a must!!!

this trail is awesome. but in the winter it is super wet with lots of standing water just chillin across the whole trail. so i would recommend going when its a little dryer. but a sick trail for sure if it was dry.

I think this is my favorite trail west of the mountains. The view is spectacular when it is clear and you can really get going on the way down. It is worth the drive out to Bremerton. Highly recomended!!!

Get there early and avoid the motorcycles, horses and hikers. Wildcat Lake Trail going up and Gold Mountain to Beaver Pond Down, be prepared to climb out of Beaver Pond. Insect repellant will make your stops more pleasant... Combinations rooted climbs, rock slides and rock formations. All is rideable by some one with moderate skills and conditioning. Most riders can improve their skills on this mountain.

New reroutes at 4th level of wildcat and on plumber trail will see if your a nancy or not. Many routes other than w-cat, b-pond. Multi-use.

This is a great place to ride. The view from the top is worth it for that alone. I have only ridden this in the fall/winter so I have not run into many other trail users. It is definitely worth riding.

This is my bread and butter ride. The trail is a little loose at spots right now, but that should work itself out. The downhill is extremely fast (watch out for hikers/horses on the weekends) and the uphill is challenging. The best ride is to take Wildcat up and Beaverpond down.I can't recommend this trail enough.

I Live by this trail, and I have rode it more times than I can count. This trail is worth any trip, to get to the trail. It is very well maintained, and his somewhat chalingeing, going up. But going down IS UNBELIVEABLE the speed is all there, and you will love it. FAST DH ride. kinda technical, but you MUST RIDE THIS

The adjacent Beaver Pond trail is more complex, roots particularly. After you reach the end of the Vista Trail--the final leg of the Wildcat Trail--opt for Beaver Pond for your DH. This will create a loop for you back to the start without increasing miles a lot. Either DH (Wildcat or BP) is satisfying, but Beaver Pond is more technical, less rocky, and less traveled by hikers, etc. Oh yeah, uphill burns bad unless you have oak tree legs...eat carbs first.

This is not as difficult as others mentioned. Nice XC trail up very well maintained and FAT ORV trail. You can ride the singletrack all the way to the top or you can go the easy way and connect fire roads on up. The climb is not that bad at all. Coming down is nice and fast, unfortunately there are only few technical areas. A couple good hits are in there though to keep it fun. It is really fast coming down so watch for other users. Not a destination area but worth the effort if you are in this region.
