Ride Summary:
A technical and dangerous ride.

Trail Description:
Use caution on this ride or you might end up going over the edge of one of the 1,000 foot cliffs. From the Moab City Park follow the Colorado for a short distance and then up a gnarly trail that climbs to the plateau high above the River. The views of the Canyonlands are startling. Maneuvering ledges that can lead to 1000 foot drops is tricky. The downhill section is technical so use caution through out the ride.

How to get there:
From Moab head west on 1st North to 100 West. Then south and then west on Williamís Way. At the T head south on 500 West. Take right on Kane Creek Road. It becomes a dirt road after 5 miles. Continue to the parking area. The trail is s about 1.2 miles past the parking area.

Additional Notes:
Southern Utah, Moab.

Improved riding skills required! 1,100 foot elevation gain and great views at the top. Tends to be crowded on the weekend, so start early to avoid the dust from the ATV's. The Jackson trail on the decent is a must, but be prepared for a 4' stream crossing. The Jackson singletrac is very technical and can be dangerous-- use caution.

Sweet ride. Well worth the short climb with the occasional 4x4's. Incredible view at the top. Pretty hairy in some spots if you want it to be. A blast coming down hill.

Great ride for even those with moderate skills. Wonderful views at the top well worth the trip. Go early to avoid the heat & 4x4's Be careful on some ot the single track where a rider could easily fall very far. Could be life threatening if you are foolish. Take a camera.

Drops, slickrock, climbs, downhill, some sand, creek crossing, cliff side riding (600' dropoff) and views are all part of this trail. A must ride to round out your Moab resume. A great intermediate and up trail that will test your skills at times, but with some talent and luck you can keep the dismounts to a minim. The start of the trail is the worst (or best) that will find most riders footprints in the sand at one or two drops. Expect 1-2 hours to climb to the top, and enjoy the ride down. KEEP ON THE TRAIL by riding the drops or getting off your bike and walking the drops. Do not make or help make needless scars next to the trail. You will find OHV on the trail, but where else can you be entertained by people smashing up $30,000+ vehicles on purpose? The OHV people did build this and most of the trails in Moab.

A little bit of everything: Slickrock, boulders, sand, a creek. A great ride but bring your first aid supplies if you want to go fast. Take the port of entry right down the middle!!!!

The total vertical gain of this ride is 1700 feet, acording to my Cat Eye. This ride turns epic ridden as a loop from Harrah pass packing your steed up Jacob's ladder.

Watch out for dudes on motor powered vehicles, we were driven off the trail by a family in one of those land cruiser lexuses and by a couple of hummers. i hate 4X4's decent ride, but next time i go back to moab i,m riding porcupine rim over and over.
