Trail Description:
If you're looking for a trail that offers a little bit of everything from fast, pristine trail, to quick, steep ascents (plus a few longer ones), river crossings, old growth forests, mountain views, solitude, majestic river views, along with the ability to choose various distances, then check this trail out. You will be amazed, and if you're not tired by the end, you haven't ridden hard enough. The trail totals 77 miles--almost entirely singletrack--although the last ten miles or so are located in wilderness areas which means no BIKES ARE ALLOWED.
How to get there:
Roseburg is located 65 miles south of Eugene, on I-5. Take RT 138 east from Roseburg. The trail begins at Swiftwater Park, although you can choose to drive further if so be it.
Additional Notes:
Come prepared with the right gear, for some parts of the trail are far from any sort of help.

From I-5 take Hwy 138 & head east towards Diamond Lake (before Crater Lake). Call 541-440-4930- which is the bureau of land management & ask for the pamphlet titled "North Umpqua Trail". You're gonna need it as the trail is 79 miles long & broken into 12 segments all of which are connected. This trail is best ridden from east to west. Starting at the Lemolo Segment (near Diamond Lake) & riding towards Swiftwater park (DO NOT START AT SWIFTWATER PARK). It's best done with 2 car shuttles, since there is no need to back track with 79 miles of 100% singletrack trail ahead of you. Anyone who rates this trail less then 5 stars has not ridden this trail. Most people only ride the bottom 20 miles. The best riding as the top 75% of the trail.
There are some 25 waterfalls, several lakes, & hotsprings on this incredible trail. This is the only trail in the entire NW that the IMBA gives their EPIC rating to. It's a MUST ride- right up there with the McKenzie River trail. Here i

Correction. The directions aren't inaccurate, just sparse.

Here are some more directions to help you: Take the Garden Valley Road exit in Roseburg (I think it's exit 125). Head east (turning right if you are coming from the south, left if coming from the north). Follow this road to Stevens and make a right. Follow Stevens to Diamond Lake Boulevard (at the bottom of the hill) and make a left. You will follow this road for some time (approx. 1/2 hour) and pass through several small towns. When you reach the town of Glide, you're getting close. You'll pass through another small town called Idleyld and the sign for Swiftwater Park will be on the right shortly after that. Cross over the bridge at the sign & park in the lot to the left of the road. From here, you will climb up, up & up (it may seem gradual in places, but be assured you're heading up). In fact, t
