Ned's is a great trail if you enjoy a steep technical ride. There are many good drop offs and a few man-made stunts including a 7 foot A-frame. There is a fair bit of loose rock on the trail but if navigated correctly, speed can be had.

How to get there:
Drive up the Mt. Seymour road and park at the look-out parking lot. Find the Mushroom lot trail-head. Ride to the historic Mushroom lot and hang a right, You will see the top of Ned's on your left.

Additional Notes:
Unless your really like to ride up-hill, drop a vehicle on Riverside Drive.

shuttle schmuttle! boo hoo...give me a break all you whiners! It's not called 'uphilling'you self-righteous boneheads! So you think because we get more rides in this is bad for the trails? while you spandex bike cops spin your wheels going up this rips the .... out of them too. i'm 65 years old and the next crybaby i see blocking my way riding up the trail is gonna have maxxis written all over his noodle when i use him for a landing after i drop in...anyway, just ride and shut-up!

Who are we kidding? Ned's is some serious North Shore DH action. Mt Seymour doubles as a ski hill, so it's not exactly a walk in the park. Unfortunately, you do not go down the ski slopes or anything. This is most definitely singletrack hell. There's several 6ft+ drop offs, mostly man-made, but with reasonable negotiable bypasses. What I found didn't especially agree with my XC bike was the successive onslaught of smaller 1-2ft dropoffs, each spaced about every 10 ft in most parts of the trail. I endoed twice and finished the trail bleeding. Of course, the trail was muddy, wet, and slippery. There was a fair bit of fog at the start as well, but this is in late October. Strong front brakes are required because since you may find it necessary to scrub a lot of speed after each of the aforementioned successive drop-offs. Since there's not much space to the next one and you ARE descending a fairly serious mountain range, you often have to hammer the brakes go

This trail is the s**t! There are at least 4 A Frames and a teeter totter to test your skills. I ride a hardtail and this trail will definetly shake you up. Be sure that you have fresh brake pads (if not using disk) as you will most likely burn a good chunk. Don't chicken on the 7 foot A frame, it's worth it.

This trail was fantastic to ride either up or down until the shuttle "athletes" started working it over with sometimes 6 shuttle runs in a day. I'd like the keepers of this website to ditch the "shuttle" rating. Come on kids, the climb up is nothing even on a 40lb bike! If you can't ride up you should really spend your time honestly and build just enough fitness to ride uphill for 20 minutes.Don't get me wrong, I respect people who are new to riding and I think it's really a good thing you enjoy the sport, but please leave the car at the bottom and RESPECT THE CARRYING CAPACITY OF THIS RESOURCE.

This is a great trail. Few trails are as long and flow so nicely. It is somewhat technical in spots, but not ridiculous. An excellent intermediate trail for those seeking a challenge but not willing to risk life and limb.P.S. Many like to ride this trail fast. If you stop try and move to the side of the trail to allow others to p-a-s-s (this stupid thing won't allow my to not use the hyphens_.

ned's is a great downhill trail. it's quite technical and fast. Although it can be riden on a hardtail very well, it's much more smooth on a full suspension.

If you really like this trail and would like to keep it the sweet trail that it is and not become an erroded piece of crap show up for the NSMBA trail maintenance day scheduled for August 27th. Bring tools if you got some and bring friends...if you got some.

My first taste of NorthSore riding, rocky desent and series of drop offs right at the beginning shared the $**t out of me at first but after riding it once it's a blast. wear body armor! and be prepared to feel the rear tire burn your butt. I love this trail and I ride it every chance I get.... Aint it good to feel alive!!! ;o)
