Trail Description:
At Oakwood Park you're bound to find a trail you can't get enough of. There's lots to choose from so the best thing to do is to go and explore. If you're looking for long mileage, look elsewhere. Otherwise Oakwood is a lot of fun for a little area.

How to get there:
Take Interstate 475 to The Napoleon/Maumee Exit (near Toledo) head towards Napoleon on State Route 24. Get off at the Industrial Drive Exit near Napoleon and turn left. At the stop light turn right, and then turn left at the four way stop in front of Walmart. It is on the left about a half mile.

Is this trail still around? It was fun to ride but very cramped in some locations.

The mountain bike trail at Oakwood Park are narrow and can be a lot of fun. the only trouble is when there's been a lot of rain. the trails are in creek valleys, and get very sloppy when wet.

it is an excellent trail. my husband and i go there whenever we get the chance. we always go different ways so it's never the same.

Hey I am in Bowling green and was wondering if anyone had any updates on this course? and if right now is a good time to be on the trail?

Rode it for the first time today. The trail can be a bit tricky at times. Roots, ruts and tight singletrack is a definate. I would suggest wearing long pants, long shirt and some gloves. Track was in dry condition today but could get very ugly when wet. By far the best kept secret in northwest ohio. If it wasn't for this website I would have never found it.

Drove one hour from Toledo to find this one. And as the other posters have suggest there is no trail here... nope... none... :) OK, I'm joking, this is an excellent mountain bike trail for NW Ohio, built in the valley of what appears to be 3 coverging creek beds. Single track with lots of little bridges, and some areas where bridges are out and you just have to plow through the creek. There is a map of the course posted, but forget it, you will get lost... too many branching trails. All trails eventually lead back to the main entrance, so it only adds to the adventure. Very rolling terrain with a few places that you wont even need to pedal just ride the waves of dirt mounds. I needed to get off and walk the bike up a few of the hills, but I think if I would have known what was ahead, I could have gotten the momentum to make it up all but maybe one of them. Nothing too technical on this course, just a lot of narrow switch backs and rolling hills. I was covered in mud and mi

I've been riding here for several years. It is my regular after work ride. There is not a lot of elevation change, but if you push yourself you can get a good workout. However, it has recently been turning to crap. They've plowed sections of the trail and the trail is not as well maintained as it used to be. Hopefully things get turned around because it's the only decent place to ride in NW Ohio.

The guy who talked about the ice cream shop had the wrong trail. The one he mentioned is boring and short. The actual Oakwood trail has apparently been lengthened to make it better, but it probably is still poorly marked. There is a much more complete description at spokejunkies.com under "ohio trails".

I for one will say that this trail does exist. I live about 10 miles away and ride it about once a week. I will agree that it is poorly marked but there are hardly ever any other riders so just go out and explore. There are some decent obstacles and a couple of tough climbs. If you're going to ride it bring an extra tube and some tools because I pick up a thorn almost every other time I go out.
