Trail Description:
From hard packed to beach sand. Tight singletrack to wide jeep roads. Soft long climbs in spots and in others they're rooty, steep and technical. Decents are fast and tight. Some decents push the envelope on your technical skills while others are downright nuts. Plenty of trails to choose from in Allaire, you can take it easy here or you can hammer. Watch for runners, horses and hikers (and hunters during season). SAND, remember that, in spots you could drop a blanket, umbrella and cooler and pretend you hear waves.

How to get there:
Garden State parkway south to Exit 98 to Route 34 south. After exit, make right at first light (Sunoco on corner). Follow till road comes to a "T" and make a right. Go over Parkway and make first left onto Hospital Road. After road dips down by a river parking area is 1/4 mile on right.

Additional Notes:
No night riding!! Remember those IMBA rules, we almost lost these trails!!

directions correction: there is NO sunoco station. goggle "hospital road, wall" and south of the manasqaun river is the main parking lot. review: many trails, many are unmarked. the place is very crowded on weekends, mostly riding the orange trail. find someone who knows where trails like "tiger woods" are? very challenging. just don't advertise it as the Jorba wanks will sanitize the trail and basically make it so grandma can get her wheelchair over it. "No biker left behind" program where all trails don't offend by catering to the lowest common denominator rider.

Good wide open place to ride. Lots of variety: sand, mud, roots, speed, slow technical. only thing lacking, long slow climbs. it also gets very crowded in parking lot on weekends, although I rarely see anyone in the back. i do see a lot of lost people, and please stop and move over for horses as complaints go to park office and they always threaten to ban bikes despite the fact that bikes outnumber horses 100 to 1. also hunters all over and they cry about your oder if you wander from the main trails. i've taken some deer trails, yes they have trails because they have no other place to go, and other bikers have followed which has upset the self appointed trail maintenance group who then cover the trail with fallen logs and post signs "Trail closed". so...you need to stay on the main trails or the trail police will vilify you and call you names like "bushwacker' etc. it's so pc-ish. correction: the 'sunoco' station is now a 'l

nice single track. i've used these trails for cross training for doownhill racing. f.y.i. always yield to equestrians and hikers. the rules of the trails no matter where you ride.

Been going to these trails for years now. Im lucky to live 15 minutes away. This park offers pretty much everything an average to advanced rider could ask for. climbs, descents, hard pack, mud, sand, rocks, roots etc... only draw back is running into the occasional horseback rider, who don't really look to kindly on a passing biker (had some odd run-ins with them). prep your bike for sand and explore this vast park. use the hospital road entrance and explore the trails on both sides of the road (there is plenty on both) look for me out there on a Jamis 29er wearing orange gloves. keep your head up and ride safe!!!

Love the trails been going there for years and it never gets old. I cant tell you to go off the marked trails but if you do head to the river. If you find the trail along the river take it to the end... you will love it...

Trails are poorly marked, I've only been once, and got lost for a little...it's easy to do. I guess a map would help. All in all, still had fun. I have seen pics of a lot of bridges, but couldn't find them. Does anyone know what trail they are on?

I've ridden mtb on pavement for years but this was my first real mtb trail ride. I rode about 8 miles in a little under 2 hours. It was tough, hot & sweaty. And a really good ride. Best advice I can give: get the South Side Trail Map from the camping center, and familiarize yourself with the route. I got lost trying to get out and did a lot of doubling back. The only thing that marks the routes is the colors: blue and orange intersect, so you could wind up going around forever.
