Trail Description:
These trails are a series of loops. You can ride for about an hour before you get bored. The main trail get's heavy use from hikers, so stay on the side trails. The trails are very steep and some are pretty. technical. Check out the VAST trails around Bristol Pond, they can be interesting too.
How to get there:
Park in the village and ride to the trailhead. The trailhead has very limited parking and you will piss off the people that live there and they will kick bikers out. Take Mountain St. to Mountain Terrace. It is pretty obvious from there.
Additional Notes:
The higher elevations of this mountain are Peregrine Falcon (Threatened species) habitat.

My son Dan Darcy coon cat started the hike April 10 last year alone and suimetmd Katahdin on August 30th. He turned 23 on the trail. He graduated with a film degree from Emerson college in Boston. He lives in LA working in his field and I'm sure would be interested in hearing about your documentary. If you're interested in sending him info, his email is . I came across your blog by chance trying to locate someone else and I have to say, your thoughts and outlooks are so refreshing. You all truly captured the essence of the journey. Ruth Darcy

No bikers is Bristol? nearly everyone my age, give or take 4 years rides a bike.. its the new trend. But yeah, its not Deer Leap, its the Bristol Cliffs. As you get closer to the top of the mountain the trails get rockier and rockier. Takes about 2 hours to push to the top and 15-20 minutes to get to the bottom.

I just rode this area this evening. It kept me busy for about 90 minutes. The main hiking trail above the water tower is very difficult at the top. I rode it except for two sections near the top. Some one younger then me with more energy could probably clean most of it. The view is killer and worth dragging your bike up. It is a reasonable decent with only two problems that are doable but I was alone and choose to be safe. I think I found all the loops lower down North of the hiking trail. Someone had just raked some of it. Great land and I will go back to explore where the logging landing road goes. It was good enough for a log truck so its probably ridable out to Rt116. Seems like there are no bikers in Bristol. What is that about?
