Wilderness Park has some great stuff. I haven't been there since about May or June, and there were a TON of downed trees and whatnot from a storm we had early in the summer...so watch out for those if they are still there. Deer are plentiful, as is all of Nebraska, maybe they should put put up a deer X-ing sign! Just kidding, but seriously, I have almost slammed directly into two deer...craziness!

Wilderness Trail rocks. There are bike, foot and horse trails here and most are well marked. The trails can be windy as they roughly follow Salt Creek but easy to get around. Access points are at saltillo road, south 14th (north of Saltillo), Old Cheney, Pioneers Blvd, 1st street between cheney & pioneers.

Good Trail not overly challenging in most parts. Some parts are a bit techinical. Fun trail to ride.

Wilderness is the best option in Lincoln, NE for riding on anything other than former RR tracks. A 4 or a 5 for here, a 1 or a 2 vs any state with rocks and or hills. There is a wonderful variety of terrain ranging from mowed grass pasture, to single dirt track, to rocking climbs, even a water crossing or three. Please use good judgment riding the dirt trails when wet because the ruts can last all summer long making the otherwise easy trails dangerous. The foliage can be thick in late spring to early fall, nettles and poison oak WILL get you, if you have bad allergies to them, best stay to the mowed trails instead of the single track trails.Tread lightly and wear your cap,Clay
