Trail Description:
This is a pretty good trail, although this area has more than one, the main one is the Clear Bay Trail. This trail offers mostly just single track, with the occasional tedious uphill, but during the end ( depending on if you go left or right) their are some really good down hill runs with 2 foot drops about every 6 feet. Their are sand pits often, and it cuts in and out of a thick forest sevral times.

How to get there:
on I-35, get off at the Main Street ramp, make a right at 24th street and then follow it down to Highway 9, then make a left turn untill you see the second sign that says "Lake Thunderbird", the trail is right at the begining.

Additional Notes:
Bring some bug spray. The insects can be pretty fierce.

Pedaled this trail a few times. The first time I felt like a was lost. Trail is marked well untill the gold loop. There are many bypasses that arent marked...went in circles for about 30 minutes. The gold trail is great and technical. A few vertical drops and some good roller coaster rolls. Nice ladders and bridges in some areas on gold (but not sure if I could find them again!!) Bring a lunch with your girl and eat on the beach off of a number of trails, then take a swim. Very fun if you have the time to enjoy it. 30 minutes to 2-3 hours possible of riding time! I beleive there are two trail heads.

The trail is open this weekend and well worth any drive. It was recently groomed for a race and is prime. The review is wrong on mileage, though. It's about 18 miles long. C-ya.

Is the trail currently open. I was thinking of driving down this weekend and giving them a whirl

This trail is fun. My wife and I (who are new to mountain biking) went for a ride on a sunday evening. That is a good time to ride, only a handful of riders on the trail. We rode the green and yellow trails. It was great, easy enough for new riders like ourselves, yet a few drops and climbs to make it somewhat challenging. We are looking forward to riding the green and yellow a couple more times and then moving on to the harder trails.

Expanded to almost 16 miles, this is now more of a trail system than a trail. There are plenty of bypasses, so the trail can be any time from 15 minutes to 2 and a half hours. Great for beginners if you stick with the green and yellow loops (map at trailhead), For aerobic action, continue on to the red and blue loops. For technical, and some fun , go the gold loop. Do not be intimidated by the gold loop being labelled "advcanced". It is technical, but not difficult. I know several people, including kids who ride the gold but are challenged by the red and blue as they have plenty of climbs and will challenge the quads and the lungs. I live in Norman and love this trail! I ride it 2-3 times per week. I've ridden most trails in Oklahoma, variety is the spice of life. I've ridden in New Mexico, Arizona, Utah, Colorado,Kansas and Arkansas. I leave town several times per year to ride. When I ride Clear Bay again I repeatedledy say "we are lucky to have Clear Bay." It has wid

This is a good fun trail. Just wanted to say its WAY easier to get to if you don't go through town, i.e. main street, HWY 9 meets up with I-35 a couple miles past the main street exit, take the lindsey street exit and stay left on the exit ramp until the second right this gets you on HWY 9 and takes you to the Clear Bay Area after about 10 miles or so, there are signs.

I like this rail alot. I would not reommend it if you are just beginning. there a some very good drop offs about 30 ft almost vertical. there is alot of uphill riding. hard trail when wet. very hardcore riding, my personal favorite were the step hills very easy to get lost if its your first time out there.

There is 13 miles of trails now, well marked. Doesn't get technical until the gold loop.

I rode it tired but the downhills are fun and the ups won't kill you. There are a couple of gullys that go down about 20-25 ft and then back up. There is a series of them called quadzilla that if you aren't carefull you might wind up in a tree (I did). Overall a good way to spend an afternoon.
