Trail Description:
Blackbird State forest is mostly fire road and dual track trails with very little topography to speak of. Nevertheless, it is a nice ridde for a beginner, and due to the many interconnected trails, the ride can be made as long as you want. There a few equestrians here an there, and during hunting season you'd have to be crazy to get near the place except on Sundays. Nice rides through loblolly pines, oak. Some bottom land, and the trails are a bit more challenging in rain or snow, but this place is really more of a peaceful cruise. There are a few opportunities to practice log climbing.

How to get there:
West off route 13 halfway between Smyrna and Odessa onto Blackbird Forest Road. $ miles and you're there

This one's a goodie. Some serious climbing and treacherous rocks in some places, but you will be rewarded for your efforts! folkd Technical and a ton of fun... a worthy ride that's worth the trip. FABULOUS views along the ridgeline too!

The main area the tybouts trac is fire road. if you go to the barlow trac there are some decent trails with uphills and downhills. I live down the street from the barlow trac and parked on the area right off rt71 by the valero. take the main trail through the trees until you get to a meadow. turn left and ride the meadow until you get to the trees with a minor uphill. the trails go from there. you can go to the tybouts tract and pick up a map at the ranger garage. blackbird spans many areas of townsend. i am going to go to all of them to see how they are.

A newbie trail for sure. Little to no single track. Took the wife out and had a blast though. It`s what you make of it.
