Ride Summary:
Dirt road climb with hardpack downhill

Trail Description:
From the parking area start climbing on Schultz Pass Road heading North-easterly. This is a long climb with little interesting terrain to break up the monotony (if you can call hug pine stand monotonous). Just before the Schultz tank go right on a very well marked set of double track then immediately take another right onto the singletrack. Be careful, there is a gate crossing the path about 200 yards down the trail, make sure is stays closed. Ignore all of the turns and stay on the hardpack downhill trail. This area is super nice with turbo fast, bermed corners and numerous lips for big airtime. Follow the trail back to your vehicle. For the truly brave turn this trail backwards and peddle up Schultz Creek Trail to really Earn Your Turns!

How to get there:
From Flagstaff, go north on 180 then right on Schultz Pass Road. Park at the designated parking/camping area on the right side of the road.

, Country First , were to really mean it, then they would've put nleary all Americans back to work 3 years ago. Thus, Republicans put their party first while Democrats attempt to put people and the country first.

I lived on schultz and in flag for much of my life. This trail is awesome, not to mention the many others. If you fallow the Schultz Rd to the next cattle guard past the main parking then drive about a mile or less You'll see a pull off parking onthe right, looks like a camp ground. ANd onthe other side of Schultz rd or looking west there is a trail heading north west up to the peaks. You can reach the Pipe line and go to buffelo park, I take a right onthe pipeline and go down and up a hill and on the left there is a small single track goes up a small steep and about a mile or so to the Kachina trail where you can take the rd to snowbowl, or up on the east side of the peaks and drop back down to schultz on some really fun technicle trails. Actually don't do that unless you really knwo the area, I know the peaks and northern AZ better than the back of my hand... I'd love to guide a few folks around, but don't live in flag anymore... If you fallow the Schultz creek tra

This is absolutely my favorite trail in arizona. The best way to loop it is to come up elden lookout road, and ride sunset to shultz. shuttle up the road to sunset trail and ride along the ridge on the north side of elden. stay on the trail and continue through the very technical sections in the woods. Come out in the post-burn valley with no trees (the hobbit-forest). take a left and go up the hill to the next junction. Take a right onto sunset and continue up the hill. When you reach the top, rest for as long as you need to to be at 100% again because warp speed descent is now in front of you. Ready? full face helmet is on? knee pads, elbow pads, body armor, rosary? check? kk, let go of the brakes and point the bike DOWN. most of the turns are bermed so speed will be your friend. once you get to the parking lot just keep going, keep the sign/map to your left, and the road to your right and continue to shultz creek. Stay on the pedals and off of the brakes and enjoy your

Dont listen to Zoid. HE'S NOT FROM FLAG!!! So how is he "in the know"? Its a great trail to ride up.

This is a beautiful but challenging trail. I park at the bottom and ride up on the trail to the meadow. It is awesome. The ride down is fast and furious. My advice...don't ride up the road...the trail is much better. Must have strong legs, good balance, and good brakes.

The general concept in this area seems to be-don't clog up this warp, and I mean WARP speed downhill trail trying to ride up it! Ride the road up, or, if you have the local knowledge and the puff, ride up ANOTHER trail on the other side of the mountain, loop it or whatever, then come down Schultz creek trail....I'm not from Flag, but I can gaurantee you no one in the 'know' rides up that trail.....When you get flattened by some freerider with a full face formula 1 helmet floatin' at mach 17, don't blame me...

why climb a dirt road when you can climb the same sweet singletrack you want to come down on.for a better climb, combine schultz creek trail with sunset trail up to eldon lookout.then take that same sweet singletrack down to the cold beer waiting for you at the car.
