Ride Summary:
Great scenery, wildlife, and a exciting finish.

Trail Description:
-The trail flows through pine trees for the first few miles before emerging

onto a double track road. Follow the blue diamonds along the road past several branching routes.

-The trail will swing north and intersect with FS 094.

-Go right (east) to the overlook, then follow Dowd Mountain Hideout trail to the north. Go along the hillside to an intersection.

-Go left up the hill to a 3-way intersection and go right (west) onto FS613.

-After 1 mile the trail reaches the saddle and splits.

-Head down the narrow trail, over some roller coaster berms, down a gully, and back to the trailhead.

How to get there:
From Manila, head south on UT 44 to just before milepost 14. Park at the Dowd Spring picnic area. Ride across the highway to the east down the Dowd Mountain Road. Go over a cattle guard and enter the single track, it is marked by a carsonite post.

Additional Notes:
Watch out for wildlife and the tricky descent at the end.

I really think this trail should be more then a "beginners". While it doesn't have a tremendous amount of rocks and such, there are areas that require some experince and skill. I would rank this more of a Weekend Warrior trail.
