Ride Summary:
A little something for everyone.

Trail Description:
There aren't a lot of trails here, but what trails there are quite fun. There are level wide gravel paths for even the most basic beginner and there is also a section in the middle of the park that is a maze of tight twisting singletrack that will force all but the most expert riders off their bikes at least once. If you're not into climbing then just ride around on the top of the bluff. For those who aren't afraid of a little climb, then head down to the water. You can ride a paved path along the sound. Since there isn't much riding here, you may want to combine Lincoln Park with a ride to and around Alki Point. Just follow along the water and take in the spectacular views. Or another fun ride is to take the ferry across to Vashon and ride around the island for the day.

How to get there:
From Downtown Seattle head South on I-5. Take the West Seattle Freeway exit and go West. When you reach a stop light, the road will switch to Fauntleroy. Continue straight. After about 3 miles you will see Lincoln Park on the right. There is ample parking. The ferry terminal is just past the park.

This trail entirely depends on what you're looking for. It's a leisurly stroll through a park with a pretty view out to the water. Hardly anything I'd consider single track here, maybe a pedestrian populated, wide dirt path would be a better descriptor. There is one section in the middle that lasts for one minute and is very basic in technicality. I didn't like it, but I like a little more challenge. Keep this in mind if you're going to go here for a ride.

Lincoln Park in my opinion is a place where people go to play frisbee and walk their dog, not to mountain bike. The wide gravel roads are more for taking a casual strole then to practice your skills. I would strongly recommend taking the drive somewhere else unless a day at the beach with nowhere to ride sounds attractive.

Id like to say that I agree with both acm and John Moulding regarding their reviews. However neither one of them has gone to AA yet so they are still high. Here's the real scoop. Its a good place to start a city ride but don't plan on spending your whole day there. Park there ride the singele track in the middle of the park a couple of times then head toward alki beach. Not to say that the riding at Alki is all that spectacular but it is a good place to finish a ride sit down and look at ladies.

I can't always get to the hills to ride so meet my other fat friends on our $3000 F/S bikes and cruz lincoln park.. There is some good single track in the middle of the park in the thickets. It is a great place to sit around and enjoy the view after you have done your thing....

In summary - it's not bad riding for being in the Seattle city limits. There is one long, steep climb up from the beach (approx. 200 vert. ft.) on a doubletrack that will get you breathing hard. Up top, the park has some very cool little singletracks that are tight and fairly technical...remember, you are in the city! Lincoln Park is great for beginner to intermediate riders - or advanced riders who are pinched for time and need to just get in a quick ride. Remember to keep your speed down in the limited sight areas and be cool to hikers and park users so we can continue to ride there.

I used to live right by this park. It was pretty tough for me then but now it is fairly easy. If you want something tough go to Mt Raineir. Peace!

This is definitely in the 'something for everyone' category. I can't believe you rated this a'weekend warrior' and you also rate Gambrill in Maryland at the same level. There is no comparison. I am just talking about the difficulty level. I ride in Lincoln Park all the time (I live next to it), but you can't get significant singletrack here, just a good view.
