Trail Description:
More awesome single track. Years of ORV use have carved out babies butt smooth single track. Trail is a twisting ribbon of hard packed clay through the forest. Fun and fast. Big berms, little birms and all the birms you could want. from the top of Rock Candy Peak you can see Mount Adams, Baker, Rainier, St. Helen's and Shasta. Plus you'll be able to see the southern most tip of Puget Sound.

How to get there:
Take exit 95 off of I-5 and drive 3 miles to the town of Littlerock. Don't blink you will miss the town. Go through town and leave state route 121 when it turns left. Take a right on Waddell Creek Road. The intersection is a "Y" At 4.3 miles take left at big paved intersection. You should now be headed west. Take a right at the "T" on the Noschka Road. This is a gravel road. One mile to camp Bordeaux. Campground is closed but just park in front of yellow gate.

If you like motos, ruts, and cinder blocks... then this is the ride for you. But if not, try the non-motorized southside of Capitol Forest, like the lost Valley Loop. I recently rode Lost Valley and was blown away by how excellent a trail it was. Sure, there was some horse puckey early on, but out beyond the first few miles its a splendid piece of single track that you can tailor distance on. Check out Mark and Amy Poffenberger's book for details.

The race that was there kicked but. Fast, fun course, no hard DH stunts, but very fun. Drive to top of dirt road where the logged off area starts. Do shuttle runs down. Cation, the gates may be locked!

I started at the Rock Candy entrance parking lot and went up Rock Candy East to the North Rim #1 then over to Rock Candy West and back down to the parking lot. Nothing real technical and rideable going up, lots of nice berms and some powder dirt that will be changing soon to Capital Forest goo. The leaves are starting to change colors so this would be a nice fall ride. I even saw Mt. Whitney from the top.

Much easier to follow I-5 N. to 101 N.. Keep in the left lain about 5 miles outside Olympia and this will turn into SR 8; toward McCleary. Look for Rock Candy Rd on the left and park in parking lot. Cycle the Rock Candy West or the more virtical North Rim trail...Have Fun.

A must ride for anyone visiting the Puget Sound region; fast and fun with several technical turns. Pack some binoculars for views of the cascade range...

A great trail system to be sure ... but beware when it's wet. "They" put vaseline where all that red clay used to be and it's too slick to stand in places!!
