Trail Description:
With the ease of a chairlift, one would think its an easy ride. That's not the case. If you do any exploring at all, you will encounter some major climbs. The terrain is very rough and rocky putting you and your bike to the ultimate stress test. Ski Acres provides maps of the area, but they are for the ski trails and of little use to mountain bikers.

How to get there:
From Seattle, head East on I-90 to Snoqualmie Pass. Exit at the summit. Follow the rows of ski lifts on the right for about 2 miles. Ski acres is the last one on the right and offers ample parking.

I spent a ton of time up there this last summer, WOW! Once you get over the top and head down the back side it's like you're in a different world, quiet, scenic, great single track and NOBODY I mean NOBODY there. I went out the XC trails and found my way around Mt. Katherine, a super double track that rides like a single track. There are a ton of old Jeep trails that ride like single tracks as well. I ran into a lift service manager one day and he said we're welcome up there as long as we respect the ski lift equipment and the other facilities. I read that as... don't trash the place out. He also said the reason we no longer had lift service was that guys were cutting their own trails and the forest service required the ski area operator (Booth Creek) to put the land back in original shape each fall, this meant they were required to re-foliate the place to close our new trails. So I guess ...don't make any new trails, enjoy the hundreds of mile of singletrack, jeep

And also no were in the press release did any booth creek or summit at snoqualmie say that it was insurance or terrorism. “When increased operating expenses are combined with flat customer growth numbers and a very price sensitive market, incurring a loss by offering mountain biking services simply doesn’t make good business sense,” said Pretty. There it does not say 9/11 or any thing else about that, that is just what the news people said, they always take part of it or change the rest.

Just so you know. They do not own/manage northstar. Summit at Snoqualmie is owned by Booth Creek, trust me, they sign my paycheck, and in the history of the company we get told that they own, Snoqualmie, Northstar-at-Tahoe, Sierra-at-Tahoe, Waterville Vally, Cranmore Mountain Resort, Loon Mountain, If you want even more proof go to, www.boothcreek.com and see for yourself. And for the trail, all I know is it is really fun in the winter on a snowboard.

I forgot to mention that they also own/manage Northstar.

I sent an email to the Summit complaining that there press release is lame cause another resort(Northstar) in Lake Tahoe is still providing Mtn bike services even with the supposed increase insurance fees. Send an email to the Summit and complain to them.

No chairlift running this summer at Summit Central due to higher insurance and bastards going off trail. http://mid.summit.boothcreek.com/winter/press/?id=2203

First time up here and it was fun once I figured out where stuff was. That was the only down side was that nothing was clearly marked but after a few test runs it was easy to get into the flow. I would recommend you bring your dualie and leave the hard tail at home. The terrain is rocky and after two or three runs the body really starts to feel it.Overall this was a fast FUN place that will really challenge your bike handling skills. Peace!

For fifteen bucks this is the best deal in town. Only twelve after 1PM. Great trails all over the place, you will however need a bike that is durable, the cut rocks can be a nightmare, and if you bail without armor we'll be sending you cards at the hospital.
