Ride Summary:
Interlocking loops make this interesting to ride several times.
Trail Description:
There are several trails to choose from. Though there may only be about 10 miles of trails, there is still surprisingly a lot to choose from making a variety of loops and alternate routes possible. The best bet is to start on the Ridge Trail and then taking any variety of side trails making up your route as you go. The forest is relatively small so it's pretty hard to get lost. You may end up with a good climb to get back to your car though. The best way to ride these trails is to just go for it.
How to get there:
From Santa Cruz Take HWY 17 North to Summit Rd. Turn right and then right again onto Summit Rd. Follow Summit for about 6 miles (it will turn into highland Rd.) When you get to the three-way fork in the road, stay on Highland which is the center fork. Follow Highland to the small bridge over a stream
Additional Notes:
El Nino caused a pretty big mudslide here. It is, however, now passable.

Some time before, I needed to buy a house for my firm but I didn't earn enough cash and couldn't order anything. Thank heaven my friend proposed to take the mortgage loans at reliable bank. So, I acted that and used to be happy with my commercial loan.

This place is more for strong intermediat to expert, tuff uphill and some tuff downhill section especially down sawpit more than 10 miles little over 20 miles if you ride everything, which hard to do. Awesome place must hit it again and again.

I would rate this place as an intermediate/advanced place, as it has the most technical legal single track I have ridden in the Bay Area/Santa Cruz area. The climb back to the car is long, but at least it's not too steep.

we have carved the trails many times there, brail trail is worth every rotational pedal ,on the middle part of single track just glance down and you realize that your on a fallen single track tree 2ft. drop back on the trail. recommendation is to ride it twice back to back just to soak in all the big hits

Park on Highland and ride the road all the way to Buzzard Lagoon Rd. Here make a right onto the dirt road and ride it all the way to the top of Nisene Marks. At the top go right down the singletrack and this takes you into Soquel Demo. Lots of singletrack and short steep climbs. Definitely more challenging than the Beginner rating.
