Trail Description:
Tahuya is a great place to shake out the kinks and wrinkles from a long winter. And there are plenty of camping areas so you can commune with nature and spend even more time on the trails. Cut by rivers and streams, thick forest and clearcuts, the Tahuya is a motley of trails for practically any skill level. While there are a couple of clearly marked trails, the greatest fun comes from exploring, that is, getting lost and then finding your way out again. Take enough food and water for a long day. You'll want every bit of daylight to explore these trails.

How to get there:
Get thee to the town of Belfair. You'll find it by taking Highway 304 to Highway 3. From Belfair follow the signs to Belfair State Park. Take the North Shore Road (Highway 300) west for a little over a mile. Turn right on Sand Hill Road for nearly three miles, then go left on Goat Ranch Road. You'll see a large gravel pit where you need to turn. At just under half a mile the goes down to Big Mission Creek. You'll likely see some motorcyclists and people camping. Park here.

I finally went out to T. even though it was raining all day. It didn't matter because pumping through the mud and water was awesome. Next time I will go on a dry day.

the directions for these trails is a little off. once you get to the gravel pit you're there. you can catch Overland trail west by staying on the pit side of the road, or you can catch it going the other way by crossing over Sandhill Rd. you can't miss it just look across Sandhill from the parking area. other trails can be reached by checking around the rim of the pit or you can go back to north shore road, also called Clifton Rd., and head toward Belfair State Park (turn right). look for Belfair-Tahuya Rd and turn right. up the hill and look for Mission Creek staging area on the right or go a little further and you'll see Elfendahl Pass Rd. turn right and go about two and a half to three miles to the Elfendahl Pass staging area. go a little further passing Goat Ranch Rd and you'll see a large level area that will take you to Overland or Tahuya River trail. some trails might give a challenge following but they all end up bringing you back. it's a kick in the pants

First of all, whats wrong with drinking Schmidt Ice? Schmitty Pops is what we call them at Baker. This trail system is extensive and fun to explore on a bike ON A WEEKDAY. Lots of loose gravel and rocks. The newer full suspension bikes that climb well are better here than hardtails. Can be too busy and loud on weekends but that's better than not going at all.

As a matte of fact i used to race moto style for about ten years, i know how much work goes into riding, i also know how much more work goes into mtbiking. And it's clean, Some people regress while others progress! Pedal on!
