The actual elevation gain is 2200 feet. An awesome ride. Great views. For a short relatively short ride, there is an incredible amount of variability.

Very cool trail. It's got soul and the flow! Have ridden it many times. Was suggested to me by a local in a bar. About seven years ago. Thank Don Portman Sun Mt Cross Country ski director for scouting out and establishing this trail

All the trails in Winthrop rock and this is no exception.

You never know what you will encounter on this ride. Last year we came across an angry black bull as we flew down a singletrack hill. He quickly leapt to his feet and stood his ground. Deciding that confronting a bull isn't a good idea, we blazed our own trail around the bull and met up with the trail a few feet away. We cycled around more cattle later in the ride (luckily no more bulls) but the views of the Cascades and the fun singletrack made the cow pies we occasionally had to bike around worth it.
