Ride Summary:
Steady climbs, with long straight aways to gain speed. A few technical areas and great downhills
Trail Description:
Park car at end of parking lot. The start of the trail is marked with lots of information signs so you can't miss it. Watch out for the first drop very steep and get ready to pull up your front wheel after the descent or you'll have a bent fork. After that its a steady climb nothing hard. Then you should be feeling warmed up and ready for the washes, some more downhills, and lots of fast riding. Watch out for some of the washes the sand can be pretty thick. Also there's a few sharp turns going up some of the hills so make sure your in a low gear before you start climbing. Pretty soon you will start to see a paved road and you will know at that point that you only have 2.5 more miles to go. This is a one way course so there is no need to worry about anyone coming the wrong way.
How to get there:
In Scottsdale, take Shea Blvd. East then turn North on Fountain Hills Blvd. and go six miles up and to your left is a guard gate. Park entrance fee is $2.00 and ask Park Ranger for map.

Frank McNamara like most musicians has a desrie to try anything to maintain his name in the public eye. This latest stunt is quite funny really - unique I suppose. Yes I have heard of the Irish Tenors - copycat of the 3 tenors. He may be a decent orchestrator but he has not produced music for Duran Duran, Leann Rimes, Seal etc. Come on now he is far from one of Ireland's Greatest Talents.. would he even be in the rankings? Maye he is quoting himself!Ireland needs people who have experience in managing success in a commercial environment such as a business. I doubt Mr McNamara possesses such skill. We need leaders, visionaries, motivators, realists - not ego driven musicians.

what a blast. I'm still a little new to this sport but that was the best time I've ever had on a mountain bike. lots of true desert single track winding it's way up and down through washes and cacti. technical loop was a real lung buster at the beginning. I walked most of the way up. sport loop was a bit easier. enjoy the big air and the high speed cambered turns. Also, the sign at the park entrance said $1 for bikes and $5 per car. No one was in the kiosk at the gate so I slipped a dollar into the envelope and put it in the park fee/pay on the honor system box.

great trails! fantastic trails for the weekend warrior and for the more experienced. I spent an hour riding the technical and sprint loops. There is one error in that it costs $5 to enter into the park.

Trails for everyone, all skill levels, there are alot of hikers and kids around on the wknds. Mostly uphill from pkg lot, but you can get some speed on your way back. Great views and some good climbs near the mountains. Overall it's worth a ride to check out the great views...

The long loop is a lot of fun. I got some great speed going on a couple of the downhills!

I went out for the 1st time last weekend. I accidentally rode the wrong trail (Pemberton and Bluff). reminds me of the 50 Year trail outside of tucson but not technical at all. Good miles and single track but a little dull (other than the rattler). Seems geared toward newbies but fair enough, they gotta ride too. Next time its the long loop and the competative track.
