How to get there:
Drive east on State Highway 20 towards Okanogan. After about 5 miles, at "Beaver Creek" sign, turn left on Beaver Creek Road. After 6 miles on Beaver Creek road, you will pass the Dept. of Wildlife Beaver Creek Campground. Just past the campground there will be another road entering from the right, continue straight. Turn right onto a small dirt road just before the "Cattle Guard Ahead" sign. The trailhead is straight ahead at the back of an improvised campground.

Great ride. About 3 miles of the descent is a narrow side hill trail that slows down an otherwise zippy ride down.

one more note, riding up lightning creek is so much better than the road route in kirkendall's book. Whats up with that guy, road riding ucks.

what a challenge! Once the fun begins on the 13 mile descent you better hold on tight. If your into speed there is plenty of it but with it comes a price. The trail is extra narrow and sandy in places. Got to admit I bailed twice right off the edge and found myself some 30' down. What a blast, I laughed a lot. Its really quite a crazy ride to remember once the wounds heal.

This is a great trail if you are in good condition for the long climb to the top. After the last 5 miles on a dirt road there is a fast descent followed by a short climb and then the real fun begins. A long 12 miles or so of really fast downhill that is well worth the lung busting climb.
