Ride Summary:
Can you twist? This ribbon of single track twists back on itself constantly. A fun ride.

Trail Description:
Mostly single track out on the ranch. The trail constantly crosses a dry creek bed providing several short up and down sections. The trail runs in only one direction so be sure to find out which way to go while you are there. Simply follow the pink and blue ribbons. While intermediate and advanced riders are more common at Bluff Creek Ranch, beginners can handle the trail if they take there time. Be careful of the cattle guard crossings.

From the barn area head up the driveway and cross the cattle guard and go into the forest. The trail is hard pack dirt and fast! The trail twists and turns and crosses the creek bed a couple of times. Then you hit a dual track section for a short time as before entering the newly opened wooded section. Upon leaving this section, you will enter the middle wooded section where you will cross the creek several times. Several bridges have built in this area to help you navigate difficult spots. Next its back into the woods where the terrain rolls up and down up and down and up and down. Next comes GASP PASS, a super steep paved downhill. Have fun but be careful. Finally into the Roller Coaster section. Easy and Fun, around the lake and back to the barn.

How to get there:
From Houston or Austin, take Hwy 290 to Giddings. Turn south on Hwy 77. Look for the green "Warda" sign (aprox. 7 miles). You will turn left on Owl Creek Road. Travel Owl Creek Road about one mile and there will be a big Red Bluff Creek Ranch sign on the left.

Additional Notes:
Bluff Creek is a private ranch which means there is a $5.00 fee.

I just rode this trail last Sunday. weekend. To update, the fee is $8.00. The rancher is extremely friendly and very accomodating. I loved the trail. I consider it a pretty easy ride, with the few technical sections that are present, being easilly navigated if you are careful. Just watch out for the roots and sandy areas. Lots of fast turns, winding around itself quite a bit. I blasted around the course and mapped it with my Garmin Edge. There is only 400 feet of elevation change. I will ride this trail again, guaranteed. I recommend planning a weekend if possible, they have great camping available.

The ranch has been around for many years but they have made a lot of changes to the trails over the past year. The place is not as beginner friendly as it was before but they have bypasses around all of the difficult sections. If you haven't been there in a while you will find it's a new ride compared to before.

Great scenery makes this ride a do over again, rode back in Dec 05. A really good flow with few breaks. Loved the back section with that kick ass concrete downhill, that leads to the other technical areas. All in all enough here to keep your senses tuned, would not recommend to beginners or Huffy puffers, too much! P.S- watch out for the Longhorns, took the shortcut across their turf, one charged with horns down. Thank God for gears! Banzai

This 10 mile course in Warda, Texas was challenging, but fun. My wife and I went last weekend for the first time and were very pleased. This definately wasn't a beginner trail, but we are beginners and we made it alright. Some tricky down hill and uphill is found the last 2 miles but can be bypassed with provided trails if you are apprehensive. Loved the trail and give it a 5.

Just got back from riding it and it was a hoot. Definitely for intermediate riders. There's no way I'd take my beginner wife on this trail. The owners do a great job of maintaining the trail. The ranch is up for sale so hurry up and ride it. You never know, the new owners may close the trail and this great ride will go into the history books.

A great ride. Technicaly challenging but not impossible for intermediate riders. Beginers have the option of by-passing the more difficult areas. The trail is well marked and Mostly forrested with a short portion running through pasture. Most notabble wild life are the Long-horns raised on the ranch. 1st rider of the day gets to break the spider webs. Bike wash and showers available at the end of the ride. Some camping facilities if you want to spend the night. Can't wait to return!
